Connect Payment Methods

Getting paid should be simple. Bridal File supports multiple payment methods, from online card payments via Stripe to manual tracking for bank transfers, PayPal, and cash.

This flexibility means you can accept payment however your clients prefer.

Automated (Stripe): Client pays through their portal, payment is recorded automatically.

Manual: You receive payment outside the app (bank transfer, PayPal, cash), then record it in Bridal File.

Card payments via Stripe have fees of 1.4% + 20p per transaction plus a 2% platform fee. Manual methods have no fees.

Navigate to Settings from the sidebar and find the Payments section. Here you can see your current connection status and configure your payment options.

Stripe is the payment processor for card payments. Click Connect Stripe to link your existing Stripe account or create a new one.

Bridal File uses Stripe Connect, which means you get your own Stripe dashboard and payments go directly to your bank account.

What you'll need:

• Email address
• Business details (name and address)
• Bank account for payouts
• ID verification (Stripe requirement)

Pro Tip: Stripe setup only takes a few minutes if you have your bank details ready.

Stripe charges 1.4% + 20p per UK card transaction. Bridal File adds a 2% platform fee on card payments. There are no monthly fees, you only pay when you get paid.

Example: For a £500 deposit, Stripe takes £7.20 and the platform fee is £10.00, so you receive £482.80.

Add your bank details for clients who prefer bank transfers. You can also add your PayPal email or Monzo link. These details appear on quotes and invoices so clients know where to send payment.

When clients pay via these methods, you manually record the payment in Bridal File to keep your records accurate.

When you send a quote or booking confirmation, clients receive a link to their portal. They can view the details and click Pay Now to pay by card.

The secure Stripe checkout handles the payment, and it's recorded automatically in Bridal File. You get notified immediately, and the booking status updates on its own.

When a client pays via bank transfer, cash, or another manual method, you need to record it yourself.

1. Open the booking
2. Click Record Payment
3. Select the payment method
4. Enter the amount received
5. Add an optional description
6. Click Save Payment

The payment history is tracked on the booking, so you always know what's been paid.
